Greetings From Head Coach Torriglia
Hello Birmingham Barracudas – SICSAPalooza champions! For new swimmers, my name is Danny Torriglia and I am back after a great season for the Barracudas. I have been coaching swimming for 8 years now at multiple levels including Assistant coach at Groves, Oakland Hills Country Club, Notre Dame Preparatory and head coach of the Cranbrook Girls Middle School Swim Team.
I graduated from Brother Rice High School in 2010. I played soccer year round at Brother Rice and for Force Football Club. I was captain of our state championship team and hold a state record for most shutouts in a postseason. I was not able to swim at Brother Rice due to soccer, however, I began swimming at the age of 4 at Plum Hollow Country Club. I swam at Plum Hollow for 14 years. I also swam at Berkshire Middle School with Coach Alex, but had to give up my year round swim career after my time at Berkshire.
I am very excited for this upcoming swim season and meeting everyone! I am excited to be bringing in a very talented and fun group of assistant coaches. We are all looking forward to helping you achieve your goals while having a great time becoming the best we can be!
Hello Barracudas! My name is Molly Blank and I will be one of your new assistant swim coaches for the summer 2018 season.
I grew up swimming for Orchard Lake Country Club starting when I was 5-years-old all the way till the unfortunate day of graduation and had to move on. Aside from my days as a blue carp, I attended Seaholm High School where I also swam and finished off senior year as a captain for the Maples. In 2013, I graduated from Seaholm and from there I furthered my academic and swimming career at Albion College, where I also swam for 4 years and finished off my swimming career in February of 2017 as a captain and conference finalist in my events, which were the 50, 100 and 200.
They say if you can’t do…teach? So upon graduation, I became the Head Coach at Ladywood High School and once that season came to a close I took over for Coach Danny at Cranbrook Girls Middle School as the Head Coach. I now work at Mercy High School teaching Health and PE and am working towards going back to school to get my graduate degree in Social Work.
With all that said, I look forward to the beautiful summer ahead, getting to know all of you and being apart of the BCC community. Here’s to the barracudas!

I am very excited to get to know all of you this summer!
